The Australian Privacy Principles start from a simple test: does an organisation collect personal information at all? On this site, no. Lauttainfo Australia has no accounts, no mailing list and no enquiry form, and it asks you for nothing — not a name, not an address, not a card.
What does collect something is the advertising. Pages here carry Google AdSense, and Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to select ads and measure them. Google is responsible for that handling and for any overseas disclosure it involves; the consent notice on your first visit is where you accept or refuse it, and your Google account settings will change it afterwards.
Nothing is shared with the ferry operators, the state transport agencies or anyone else. We do not sell information, because we do not hold any worth selling.
Readership is measured in aggregate so we know which crossings to research next — which pages are read, which searches bring people here. That is the whole of it: no profiles, no tracking of individuals.
